POSITION:  Administrative Assistant – Community Education & Outreach (CEO) Department

QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Proficient in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook.  Good organizational skills.  Ability to work in a self-directed, self-motivated environment as well as with a team.  Ability to prioritize workload and have flexibility to reschedule tasks when necessary.  Advanced knowledge of office procedures, practices and etiquette.  Good communication skills and the ability to multi-task.  Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding information learned as part of the job at all times.  Previous experience working with people with disabilities preferred.  Valid Drivers’ License with satisfactory driving record.  Satisfactory BCI/FBI and other Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities required background checks.

DUTIES:   General duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides support to the CEO department, including special projects, office workflow, appointments, correspondence and data compilation.
  • Provides front desk and phone coverage for the building on a rotation with the SSA Administrative Assistant.
  • Supports Special Olympics by tracking physicals and volunteer eligibility, and by providing requested support to the Special Olympics Coordinator.
  • Assists with completing Unusual Incident Report (UIR) logs. 
  • Assists with accreditation and provider compliance reviews.
  • Makes reservations for seminars and conferences for the CEO department.
  • Assists with maintaining the active provider database.
  • Directly assists persons with disabilities with job coaching, volunteering, summer activities and other community opportunities.
  • Performs clerical tasks of a general or routine nature.  Examples include, but are not limited to, routine correspondence via memos and/or forms; maintaining and searching files; maintaining general account records and monitoring the use of office supplies. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION:  Pay starting between $17.16 and $25.38 based on relevant experience. Benefits include Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS); medical, dental, vision, life insurance; paid sick, vacation and personal leave.  Eleven paid Federal Holidays and extended holiday periods in July and December.

HOURS:  Flexible 40 hour per week schedule, generally 8:00am to 4:00pm.  Schedule will sometimes require flexibility to meet the needs of the individuals we serve.  Remote work opportunities available after initial training period completed.
