May Provider of the Month

DD Awareness Month
Congratulations to May’s Provider of the Month, Jodi New.  Jodi is wonderful to work with and makes sure all individuals’ wants and needs are being met. She’s a great advocate for the people she works with and helps them achieve their goals. She’s always willing and open to work through challenges and offer new ideas. She has worked in the DD field since 2006. Jodi started working in the residential setting and then was informed of a position open in Troy at what was once I-ARTS.  She then began working at S&H Products, Inc. in 2010.  Jodi states that S&H is a great place to work as the associates and staff welcome you with open arms. The staff work hard each day to ensure the associates have a meaningful day that they are able to discuss with their providers and families. S&H Products, Inc. is moving forward with integrating their associates into the community to form natural supports and community connections. Jodi says “every day is a good day at work, especially days I have more time to spend in the art studio. We have recently purchased a kiln with our Match Day money and have started working on pottery which has some therapeutic benefits! Art has always been one of my passions.” The Community and Support Services Department would like to recognize our providers who go above and beyond for the people they support. Every month we will spotlight a “Provider of the Month”.  Nominees will be selected by vote from submission forms received the previous month. Just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for the people in Shelby County! Providers of services to people with developmental disabilities may be independent (self employed individuals) or agencies. In either situation, providers must be certified through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in order to provide services through waiver funding.
