January Provider of the Month

Congratulations to January’s Provider of the Month Hannah Starkey.  Hannah has been an Independent Provider for 4.5 years. She spends a lot of time with her clients and always puts them first. Hannah always has a welcoming smile on her face and connects very well with her clients. Hannah is employed with Wilma Valentine Childcare where she is a very dedicated employee. When asked to give an example of a good day at work Hannah said  “Watching her clients have an “Ah-Ha” moment and assisting parents to make everyone’s lives run smoother.” She really enjoys encouraging others to be included in community events and activities. One of Hannah’s priorities is to aide people in viewing our community with a sense of inclusion. Hannah is extremely reliable and dedicated to individual’s served. The Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities appreciates all that she does.

The Community and Support Services Department would like to recognize our providers who go above and beyond for the people they support. Every month we will spotlight a “Provider of the Month”. Nominees will be selected by vote from submission forms received the previous month. Just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for the people in Shelby County!

Providers of services to people with developmental disabilities may be independent (self employed individuals) or agencies. In either situation, providers must be certified through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in order to provide services through waiver funding.
