SEE Me – Luen

Luen Geuy

SEE Me is a special series spotlighting an individual supported by the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Luen Gray is a preschooler with a full-life. His typical day consists of going to daycare, school, playing with friends, watching tv and movies, and spending some time with his family before bed. Luen also loves being around his big brother and doesn’t miss a chance to play ball. One of Luen’s favorite places to go is a Japanese Steakhouse (Sake) in Dayton. He enjoys watching the chef entertain as they cook the food and especially enjoys the huge fires they set!

One of the things most people don’t know about Luen is his level of toughness. Born 13 weeks premature, he has already overcome many of the barriers that professionals thought would slow him down. Luen is a fighter that never gives up, no matter the challenge.

Sure, Luen has a diagnosis that makes him eligible to receive services through the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities, but that label doesn’t mean much to anyone who knows him. We ask that our community see people for more than their disabilities during Developmental Disability Awareness Month. In this case, see Luen for all that he is; a son, a brother, a grandson, and a great-grandson who has unlimited potential and a very bright future!
