April Provider of the Month

Derrick Hunt

April Provider of the Month is Derrick Hunt. Derrick has been working in the DD Field for the last 5 years and has been an independent provider for 1 1/2 years. Derrick says a good day at work for him is when he sees a client reach a milestone or goal that they have been working on to be more independent. There is a sense of strength and empowerment that you can see sweep across their face when they accomplish things that they did not think were possible. Derrick is always willing to help people get where they need to be. He’s there to help with any incident that may arise and will do whatever it takes to make sure everything is taken care of. He goes above and beyond to make sure the people he serves are happy and have what they need to grow and be more independent.

The Community and Support Services Department would like to recognize our providers who go above and beyond for the people they support. Every month we will spotlight a “Provider of the Month”. Nominees will be selected by vote from submission forms received the previous month. Just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for the people in Shelby County!

Providers of services to people with developmental disabilities may be independent (self employed individuals) or agencies. In either situation, providers must be certified through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in order to provide services through waiver funding.
