August Provider of the Month

Betsey Nave

Congratulations to August’s Provider of the Month, Betsey Nave.

Dependability is just one of Betsey’s many strengths. She has been extremely reliable and the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities can’t thank her enough. Betsey is a great advocate for the people she serves. She has a full schedule, yet she is flexible and always willing to help with coverage needs. Betsey has been around the DD field her entire life and in March of 2019 began working in the field which she considers a privilege. When asked to describe a good day at work she said “A good day at work can look dramatically different from one client to the next; however, achieving goals and having fun while making a difference in peoples’ lives makes for a good day at work for me!”  While attending classes to obtain her Bachelor in Social Work, professors told her  that the  demographic within the social work field would pick us even if we thought we knew what population we wanted to work with.  Now working within this field Betsey can see how true that statement is.  She loves working with the DD population and really would have never thought this is where her career would go. She is grateful to be fulfilling  her calling to serve people.

The Service and Support Administration Department would like to recognize our providers who go above and beyond for the people they support. Every month we will spotlight a “Provider of the Month”.  Nominees will be selected by vote from submission forms received the previous month. Just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for the people in Shelby County!

Providers of services to people with developmental disabilities may be independent (self employed individuals) or agencies. In either situation, providers must be certified through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in order to provide services through waiver funding.
