Congratulations to December’s Provider of the Month Deborah Cottengain. Deborah has worked in the DD field for 14 years and is very dedicated to the people she supports. The hours that she works is often broken up starting in the early morning hours, to mid afternoon, and then again in the evenings. Deborah is currently working with one individual seven days a week. She has worked with a number of clients over the years, some of which were difficult situations. She remains faithful and passionate to those she works with. A good day for Deb is when everyone she supports is happy and has smiles on their faces when she leaves them. Deb is very considerate and will go above and beyond to assist the individuals to have a better quality of life.
The Community and Support Services Department would like to recognize our providers who go above and beyond for the people they support. Every month we will spotlight a “Provider of the Month”. Nominees will be selected by vote from submission forms received the previous month. Just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for the people in Shelby County!
Providers of services to people with developmental disabilities may be independent (self employed individuals) or agencies. In either situation, providers must be certified through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in order to provide services through waiver funding.
