Congratulations to June’s Provider of the Month, Karla Pleiman. Karla has been an independent provider for a little over a year and a half. She has been a wonderful support and advocate for Janelle. They have had a lot of fun together and Janelle has learned new skills with the help of Karla. When asked to describe a good day at work she said “Every day I get to spend time with Janelle is a great day at work. I really like it when we take walks on the trails at Tawawa Park and just get the opportunity to talk and connect about daily life. The rewarding part of being a provider is seeing Janelle smile when a goal or task is achieved.”
The Community and Support Services Department would like to recognize our providers who go above and beyond for the people they support. Every month we will spotlight a “Provider of the Month”. Nominees will be selected by vote from submission forms received the previous month. Just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for the people in Shelby County!
Providers of services to people with developmental disabilities may be independent (self employed individuals) or agencies. In either situation, providers must be certified through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in order to provide services through waiver funding.
