Congratulations to October’s Provider of the Month Jeni Meyer. Jeni has been a provider for six months and consistently demonstrates honesty, compassion, and professionalism. Jeni has the following to say about being a Direct Service Professional: “A good day at work to me would be when I can make sure the client is comfortable, and that we accomplish all tasks for the day! I try to do as much as I can to make their day bright. I’ve always enjoyed working with people. To me it’s not only about the client but the family as well. You tend to grow a bond with them and want to make sure you are able to help them as much as possible. I enjoy working with all my clients!”
The Community and Support Services Department would like to recognize our providers who go above and beyond for the people they support. Every month we will spotlight a “Provider of the Month”. Nominees will be selected by vote from submission forms received the previous month. Just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for the people in Shelby County!
The Ohio Providers Resource Association (OPRA) launched DSPOhio.org, a statewide DSP recruitment effort that connects potential employees with provider employers. Additionally, OPRA is hosting the 2018 OPRA Fall Conference on October 25, 2017 which will provide insight and information on working as a DSP in Ohio. The deadline to register is October 19.
