Capabilities is a company that connects the dots for people with disabilities to help them achieve their goals and is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Piqua, located at 8620 North County Road 25A, Suite 105, Piqua, Ohio. The public is welcome to attend an Open House to learn more about Capabilities and its services, scheduled for August 22nd from 12 pm to 4 pm. Staff will be available to answer questions and refreshments/appetizers will be provided.
Piqua, OH (August 15, 2018) – Capabilities has served the state of Ohio for over 20 years and the addition of a Piqua office was a natural progression. Now, in addition to providing community employment services to those with disabilities through offices in Athens, Circleville, Dayton, Findlay, Fremont, Heath, St. Marys, Toledo, and Wheelersburg, Capabilities will expand options for individuals in Piqua and the surrounding region. Capabilities welcomes the local community to learn about its services at an Open House.
Capabilities partners with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, and Miami County Board of DD (Riverside) in a collaborative effort to set individuals up for success. The Piqua office is Capabilities’ tenth office, making Capabilities the largest provider of direct employment services for people with disabilities in the state of Ohio. “Capabilities is proud to be able to serve the people of Piqua and the surrounding area. It was an easy decision to put an office in a location with a community that values and includes people with disabilities,” said Karen Blumhorst, Capabilities’ Chief Operating Officer. The Open House will be an opportunity to showcase the history and optimistic future of Capabilities, including its focus on integrated, community employment for those with disabilities, the offering of drivers’ education services, as well as its community inclusion services.
Capabilities connects the dots between people and their future. Started in 1997 by Bill and Karen Blumhorst, a former special education teacher, today Capabilities employees proudly serve people in over half of Ohio. Capabilities is sought after for its comprehensive services, focus on supported employment, flexible personalized service, optimistic corporate culture, and one on one customer service.
