SEE Me – Kassie

Kassie

SEE Me is a special series spotlighting an individual supported by the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Meet Kassie. Kassie is like many of her 12 year-old peers that attend Russia Schools. Her days are mostly consumed by school and homework while fitting in the occasional TV show. She loves to read, listens to music and always looks for an opportunity to dance!

While Kassie has a disability, she doesn’t let it slow her down or define who she is. Kassie is skilled at playing the clarinet, frequents the Wapakoneta KOA and is close with her parents, brother, aunts and especially her great grandpa Merkle.

Kassie and her family have driven all the way to Idaho to visit family and saw most of the hot spots along the way. Some of the highlights of her trip included seeing Mount Rushmore and the Corn Palace in South Dakota.

Instead of looking at differences, see Kassie for who she is—an adventurous traveler, budding musician and avid camper who loves being with her family.
