September Provider of the Month

Melissa_Hughes
Congratulations to September’s Provider of the Month, Melissa Hughes.  Melissa is very caring, dependable, focuses on the needs of those she serves always going above and beyond.  Melissa has worked in the developmental disabilities field for 7 years and has been an independent provider for 9 months.  When asked to give an example of a good day at work Melissa stated, “A good day at work is when I can see the ladies I work for smile, hear them laugh, and seeing them having fun no matter what we have going on that day even if it’s cleaning, cooking, or an outing.  A good day to me is simply making sure they are happy and healthy.” Melissa loves working in the DD field and feels it is what she has been called to do. She hopes that her clients learn from her.  However, she feels that she learns new things from them every single day; things that she will carry with her for the rest of her life. The Service and Support Administration Department would like to recognize our providers who go above and beyond for the people they support. Every month we will spotlight a “Provider of the Month”.  Nominees will be selected by vote from submission forms received the previous month. Just a small token of our appreciation for all that you do for the people in Shelby County! Providers of services to people with developmental disabilities may be independent (self employed individuals) or agencies. In either situation, providers must be certified through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in order to provide services through waiver funding.
